Family Halloween Activities to Do in Tucson – October 2019

Not sure what to do with your family this October? Don’t worry we have you covered with a list of some of the most fun and family friendly Halloween themed events in Tucson this year!

Haunted Hayrides at Steampunk Ranch in Oro Valley

Event Details: October 4, 5, 11, 12 or 18 with times varying between 5 and 6 pm depending on the date

Includes: The Haunted Hayride is uniquely themed to Arizona and southwestern haunts, scary stories and spooky lore. This creepy, fun hayride is a great addition to the Halloween season! Adults 13 and up $5 and children 12 & under $3. Pre-purchase your tickets here 

Barn Party and Fun Harvest Festival

Event Details: October 5th 3-9pm and October 6th 10:30-3:30pm

Includes: Your favorite Harvest Festival is back, better than ever before! Bring the family to the ranch for horseback rides, the TRAK petting zoo, pumpkins, face painting, a very special story time with activities in partnership with My Gym Tucson, food trucks, and a featured performance by the TRAK Drill Team! Individual event and full weekend passes available for those who want to attend both Saturday and Sunday!

Pumpkin Hunt with Jack at Play Place

Event Details: October 12th, 2019 from 9-10:30 am

Includes: Enjoy the thrill of an Easter hunt– Halloween style! Watch kids search for Pumpkins in this fun pumpkin hunt 

The Great Pumpkin Race – 5K (Wear a Costume)!

Event Details: October 13th, 2019 start time: 8:30 am | 5k start time: 9 am (@ Buckelew Farms)

Includes: A pumpkin patch to purchase pumpkins, pumpkin decorating station, trick-or-treating (bring a small bag!), and even complete this fun run wearing your costume to be entered to win the costume contest!

Buckelew Farms Zombie Mud Run (Don’t worry there’s a Little Monster Kid-Friendly Race option too!)

Event Details: October 19th, 2019 from 1pm-6pm

Includes: Buy your tickets to participate in this fun and active Tucson Halloween Event!  Kiddo’s under the age of 12 run at 1pm. Adults run the timed race at 3 pm and the “fun run”, for those looking for a less competitive chance to get muddy, at 3:30 pm

Tucson Sky Lantern ‘Light the Night’

Event Details: October 19th, 2019 from 5-10pm

Includes: Tired after your zombie mud run? Then head over to a relaxing evening at Tucson Sky Lantern where there will be cornhold, face painting, live music, and fire pits to relax around during this magical experience. Get your tickets here!

Spooktacular Dinner at the Hotel Congress

Event Details: October 20th 2019, 7-10 pm

Includes: This dinner is family-friendly in that you should get a sitter for your family and grab some friends to hit up this fun adult event! Call it a Halloween date night if you will! The ticket to the event includes a special champagne welcome toast, family style appetizers, choice of soup or salad, entree, dessert, and two Halloween signature cocktails or wine. Don’t forget to dress in your best costume for a chance to win a $100 Hotel Congress gift card!

Boo At the Zoo! – Hosted by Reid Park Zoo

Event Details: 6pm-8pm for 3 nights: October 25-27, 2019

Trunk of Treat (Free Event!)

Event Details: October 26th, 2019 from 3-5pm

Includes: Trunk or treating, music, face painting, a costume contest, and more! Admission is free but feel free to RSVP to trunk or treat or offer to pass out candy to kids here 

Night of Fright- Hosted by the Pima Air and Space Museum

Details: October 26th, 2019 from 5 to 9pm.

Includes: Come in costume to trick-or-treat! Kids can carry a cargo of candy and fill up on their fuel of fun with over 20 games, hundreds of planes, and prizes to claim. This safe Halloween event is just $10, kids 12 and under are free! Dinner and treats available for purchase onsite, take flight on October 26th at Pima Air and Space Museum for Night of Fright.

Halloween in the Wild! – Hosted by the International Wildlife Museum 

Event Details: October 26th, 2019 from 5-7 pm

Includes: Games, Costume Contest, Haunted House, and live animal encounters!

TMC Get Moving Half-Marathon, 5K and Kid Mile

Event Details: October 27th, 2019 from 6am-10:30am

Includes: Options for three different types of races to run! 13.1 Miles, 5k, and kids 12 and under run free in the costume fun run! Adults are also invited to run in their costumes! After the race enjoy live music, food trucks, a jumping castle and other fun kid activities. Taking the race and it’s prize money seriously? Halloween Be Kind Bash – Hosted by Trail Dust Town

Event Details: October 27th, 2019 from 4-7pm

Includes: Don’t miss FREE entertainment, trick-or-treating, games, a magic show with Magician Michael Howell and more throughout Golf ‘N Stuff and Trail Dust Town! This community event is co-presented by Bear Essential News, and a portion of wristband sales benefit Ben’s Bells Project. Optional wristbands are $12 and get you 2 Trail Dust Town amusement rides, admission to the Wild West Stunt Show at 6pm, a round of golf and tokens at Golf ‘N Stuff!
